Meet Jason . Private Tutor. Class Instructor.

Jason grew up and lives in Atlanta. When he was 16, Jason started tutoring Math and Spanish, and his love of teaching was born. College led him to a dedicated career in Education, where he built and ran successful private education businesses for 30 years.

Jason founded THE HOME SCHOOL LIFE ACADEMY in 2014, and was responsible for teaching and curriculum development for every 6th through 12th grade student.

The THE HOME SCHOOL LIFE ACADEMY High School had a 93% college entrance rate for its 10 years in business.

Jason is an expert at all levels and types of Math - including Primary & Middle School, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II & Trigonometry, Basic Statistics, Geometry, and SAT/ACT Math preparation as well as Spanish Levels I - IV.

Approach to Teaching

As the parent of a school-aged child, you can have it all: an engaging, academic homeschool that challenges them to think deeply and prepares them for the journey ahead.

I want kids to have an authentic and honest relationship with me. I strive to show them how to not be ashamed of where they are on their academic journey.

I start by understanding what learning level a child is at, what they know and don’t know, and help to fill in the gaps. I’ll build an appropriate curriculum and teaching plan that will not only give them the skills to get passing grades and graduate High School, but the tools to be successful at anything they do in life.

Classes and Rates

Math - Primary & Middle School

I help primary and middle school students build strong foundations in math by making concepts clear, engaging, and approachable. From basic arithmetic to pre-algebra and geometry, I provide personalized support that strengthens skills, boosts confidence, and prepares students for higher-level math.

Algebra II & Trigonometry

Algebra II and Trigonometry builds on algebraic foundations with advanced concepts such as polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Students also study trigonometric functions, identities, and equations, along with graphing and applications of trigonometry. The course prepares students for precalculus by emphasizing problem-solving, modeling, and connections between algebra and trigonometry.

Spanish I, II, III, and IV

This Spanish curriculum builds skills in vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking at every level. Spanish I introduces foundational grammar, present-tense verbs, sentence structure, and everyday vocabulary. Spanish II and III expand into past and future tenses, more complex sentence structures, cultural readings, and conversational practice. Spanish IV emphasizes advanced grammar, literature, essay writing, and fluent communication through debates, presentations, and authentic texts.

Pre-Algebra

Pre-Algebra builds the foundation for higher-level math by focusing on operations with integers, fractions, and decimals. Students learn to work with ratios, proportions, percentages, and basic equations while developing number sense and problem-solving skills. The course also introduces variables, expressions, and graphing on the coordinate plane to prepare students for Algebra 1.

Basic Statistics

This Basic Statistics class covers descriptive statistics, including measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode) and variability (range, variance, standard deviation). Students will learn probability fundamentals, distributions, and how to analyze data sets. The course also introduces hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and interpreting statistical results.

Algebra I

Algebra I focuses on building a strong foundation in algebraic thinking through solving linear equations and inequalities, working with polynomials, and graphing functions. Students learn to simplify expressions, factor quadratic equations, and analyze relationships between variables. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving skills and applying algebra to real-world situations.

Geometry

Geometry covers the study of points, lines, angles, surfaces, and shapes, focusing on their properties and relationships. Students will work with theorems, proofs, congruence, similarity, and transformations, as well as calculate perimeter, area, surface area, and volume. The class also introduces coordinate geometry and trigonometric ratios to solve problems involving two- and three-dimensional figures.

SAT & ACT Math Preparation

This class focuses on the math sections of the SAT and ACT, covering algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and data analysis. Students practice solving word problems, working with functions, manipulating expressions, and interpreting charts and graphs under timed conditions. Instruction emphasizes problem-solving strategies, shortcuts, and recognizing common question types. The goal is to build accuracy, speed, and confidence to maximize test scores.
